You sure can count on Max Richter to deliver works of sweeping cinematic power, and so it's no surprise that he has increasingly been composing music for actual cinema. Hostiles, a film set in the violent Wild West of the late 1800’s, gets a big dramatic blockbuster score that alternates between lush orchestrals and tense percussives.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 14th March 2018
This thing opens with an immediate gut punch in "The First Scalp", as we watch a band of Apaches brutally murder Rosalie's husband and kids. Musically, this 7+ min, track evolves from the solemn to the jarring, quite amazing. In the middle we get "Scream At the Sky" another long track, in which the orchestra gets to emphasise its warm sounds as "River Crossing" builds up the tension. We finish with "Never Goodbye" that seems to sum up everything that makes this orchestral score such a pleasure to listen to.
