On One Spirit, Emoac may lazily bring about Burial comparisons due to the distinctly processed drum lines keeping time. On these two tracks however, it's clear there's more at stake. Arpeggios and grinding swells of mid range bass produce a harshness, whilst vocal snippets add a dramatic, solemn atmosphere.

Lakker’s Eomac (Killekill, The Trilogy Tapes, Stroboscopic Artefacts) spreads his wings on this limited edition 10” on Bedouin Records sister label Bastakiya Tapes. Up top is the chunky and eroded, dark garage informed 2-step shuffle of ‘One Spirit’, complete with enchanting melody and brief mystical vocal sample. Something like you’d imagine a Zomby and Burial collaboration to actually sound like. Underneath lies ‘Observe the Vessel Beneath You’ where he operates in a similar, ghostly, ethereal Burial-esque mode, endlessly wandering into the night with looping Detroit techno style strings. As proved with more recent Lakker stuff, you just can’t pin this fella down as merely a straight-up techno producer. With equally enticing plates from Laksa and Sully, this label is gonna be one to watch in 2018.
