First reissued in 2005 after the success of Funeral, Arcade Fire’s debut EP gets a second CD reissue makeover for any fans unwilling to buy a grubby second-hand copy on Discogs. Although Arcade Fire is humbler and lower-fi than what the band’s audience is used to these days, Butler & Co.’s passion for po-faced ostentatiousness is already audible in these early recordings.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 28th December 2017
While there honestly isn't anything nearly as good as the songs on Funeral, you can really get a sense of the beginnings of a great band. There is a lot of promise here, that was realised for their debut album. For big fans of Arcade Fire, it is definitely a treat to hear the starting point for one of the biggest bands around. All the songs have very sparse production and do not pack the punch that these songs have when you see the band live. However, all in all, this is more than a respectable debut, and worth having.
