Universal have a full brace of Paul McCartney reissues to show off, giving the listening public an opportunity to examine the Beatle’s solo work once more. McCartney was his very first, released in 1970 and recorded in secret while his main band was still just about active. Paul plays almost every single part of the album, which has a nice and loose feel to it. CD and LP reissues.

McCartney was McCartney's "experimental" album, with McCartney playing every instrument, but it was actually taken very seriously. It's McCartney's first solo effort. No one's going to argue that "Valentine Day" is as great a track as, say, "Jet". But still, I love the record. It flows, and makes perfect sense to me. Hearing it is like visiting with an old dear friend. The most popular song of this album is, without a doubt, "Maybe I'm Amazed". It's such a nice ballad and apparently, Paul wrote it about how Linda was caring for him during the long and painful split with the Beatles.
