Not The Actual Events is a Nine Inch Nails EP released in 2016, that Mr Reznor reckons is part of a return to some of the sounds and textures the band were using back in the industrial metal days of the 90’s. That’ll be very welcome news to some fans, so get your hands on the CD (and now vinyl!) editions of Not The Actual Events, containing twenty minutes of material.

Although there is an edgy quality to this EP, it lacks the raw power of 'Broken' so if you're only looking for that sound, you will be disappointed. Now, even though I love "the hard stuff", I also love when TR works within a theme and also makes social/political observations/remarks.

It has an unmistakable NIN sound to it, but it sounds like a Nine Inch Nails cover band performing original material under the influence of lithium. It's great as far as something to listen to in the background, but that's honestly about it.
