Chris Gantry was a songwriter to the stars and performer in his own right. He’d been offered lodgings at Johnny Cash’s Nashville home in the early ‘70s after some police/weed trouble. He also convinced Cash to let him record in his studio. At The House of Cash was the result and is one of Nashville’s more leftfield albums. Too weird even for the ‘drug people’ according to Cash. Because it’s different nature, it’s only seeing the light of day now. Think some sort of more cosmic version of Tim Buckley jamming with The Incredible String Band.
