‘Redeemer’ is Hayden Payne’s first long player as Phase Fatale and follows EPs for Jealous God and Ostgut Ton sister label Unterton. It’s a perfect fit for Hospital Productions recent forays into techno - channeling dark early Belgian techno/EBM and Industrial. He’s on the whole future wars tip on this record. The tune that gives me that vibe the most is ‘Human Shield’ which is proper like a bunch of exoskeleton Terminators having a massive battle. It’s mostly a good album (I liked it enough to buy a copy), but I thought ‘Order of Severity’ was pretty dodgy and too much like the sort of music they have playing in the club in some sorta vampire cybergoth flick set in 2040.

Check if you dig Alessandro Adriani, Mick Wills, Blush Response, Adam X, Terence Fixmer etc.
