Inspired by Manchester, summertime, and the anticipation of facing a long night (presumably in Manchester) head on, Martin Brew returns as J-Walk, for his new album Limelight Nights. Brew played all the instruments on the album, with the J-Walk project taking on the character of an imaginary band, allowing Brew to single-mindedly capture everything he set out to.

More lovely nocturnal sounds from the man like Martin Brew, a mainstay of Manchester beatmaking. Limelight Nights is the kind of Balearic musical treat that Manchester seems able to produce that such that those unfamiliar with it's climate would be shocked to find its grey drizzle and canal rather than sun dappled boulevards and balmy coastline.
However what Manchester lacks in vitamin D it makes up for with nightime nous. Tracks like 'Travelling at the speed of the darkness' provide musicality with delicious sunset atmosphere. Martin Brew has conjured up a delightful collection of tunes that walk the line between bar grooves, the nightclub and the morning after. Lovely.
