When it comes to superhero scores, there are only two thing I care about: the themes for the hero(es) and the villain(s), as well as the action material. Though the album opens with a rendition of the theme from the 1960’s cartoon series, Giacchino’s own theme for the character is just as good and the theme for the villain of the piece, the Vulture, is pretty effective, and is first heard in “The World is Changing” but is best heard in the climactic action pieces. The action pieces are pretty thrilling, as they have orchestral energy with funkier bits that add variety to the score.
