Steve Roach’s landmark new age ambient album Structures From Silence was first released in 1984, and it's been lulling listeners into a deep state of suspended animation ever since. Structures From Silence is very slow and very spacious, with just a few well-chosen synth elements drifting around the soundfield. Now remastered and reissued on vinyl for the first time! - Structures From Silence by Steve Roach

I've been listening to Steve Roach ever since I heard one of his songs on the third Hearts of Space Universe Sampler. I like just about all of his recordings (his dark ambient the most, and his tribal stuff probably the least). Structures from Silence is an album I heard relatively recently, and out of all of them, this is what I would consider his most melodic. It's an ambient album that takes a positive spin, without becoming sentimental with tons of uplifting-sounding washes. I just find that the third track lacks a certain cohesion with the first two.
