Larry Conklin got his first guitar in 1970, after getting back in his civvies. He taught himself to play and wrote songs after discovering Bert Jansch, John Renbourn and Rev. Gary Davis, who also played with just his thumb and index finger. Jackdaw was self-released in 1980, featuring his lovely 12-string guitar, and violinist Jochen Blum whom he met in Florence earlier that year. Beautiful reissue vinyl LP on Tompkins Square.
