The second full length album from Lee Dorrian (Cathedral) fronted supergroup With The Dead. With Tim Bagshaw (ex-Electric Wizard) and new members Leo Smee (Chrome Hoof) and Alex Thomas (ex-Bolt Thrower/Bat For Lashes). Insanely heavy, destructive and nihilistic, head crushing riffs. LP on Rise Above.

It's funny to think that With the Dead basically started out as Electric Wizard with Lee Dorrian on vocals, but now it has more former members of Cathedral than any other band. While the shifts in the rhythm section might suggest a change in style, 'Love From With The Dead' proves that the band are still just as dark, grimy, and hopeless as ever. While their debut was a pretty straightforward six-track forty-minute pummeling, this album manages to add more tracks and more elaborate song lengths, such as the seventeen-minute dirge of “CV1", while “Watching the Ward Go By” could be considered a standout due to its ambient influence and spoken-word vocals that carries through the ten-minute runtime. But it isn't always 10+ minute dirges; “Egyptian Tomb” is distinguishable thanks to its punchy guitar work and aggressive drumming, while “Reincarnation of Yesterday” is the closest the band gets to an upbeat tempo. An hour’s worth of material might be exhausting to some doom fans, but when you consider the background of the band themselves, you kinda know what to expect with 'Love From With The Dead'.
