Anambra is a vintage classic from Ozo, a group who played soulful dub music with a healthy infusion of spiritualism and African percussion. This tune incorporates a Buddhist Sanskrit mantra, making Anambra feel more ritualistic than even the average Ozo cut. This reissue presents both the edited and the extended 12” mixes, as well as an alternate version. On Isle Of Jura.

Isle of Jura are selecting some superb tunes to reissue just now, they are either digging hard or are just playing old David Mancuso recordings and picking out anything that hasn't been repressed already. One way or another that a is good news for record buyers who are able to get their filthy mitts on the kid of music that is often either hard to find, ridiculously expensive or both.
Here we have 3 versions of the quite lovely 'Anambra' from OZO. A discofied, dubby, afro groove that oozes dance floor sophistication in a bohemian, New York loft kind of way. Buy this, mistreat the sleeve and leave it in plain view at home, wait for someone to say - wow what's that and make up a story about picking it up in some SoHo flea pit a few years ago and await your praise for being such a casually brilliant taste-maker.
