8/10 Ant Staff review, 19 October 2017

The duo of Andrew Chalk and Timo van Luijk have been busy as Elodie since 2010, with loads of records on their Faraway Press and La Scie Dorée labels. Now they’ve provided Stephen O’Malley’s magnificently curated Ideologic Organ imprint with an absolute beauty. The effects of listening really do evoke the sort of ghostly, hazy, sepia tinged visuals present on the sleeve. Listening is something akin to undergoing regressive therapy and visiting a past life - where all of a sudden the space you’re in takes on an antique quality -- where surfaces are made of burnished copper and you can practically feel the texture of lacy white fabric on your skin. Such a delicate, measured and elegant album and somehow sounds just perfect as the leaves are currently falling from the trees outside. Every second of this record is gorgeous, and made more so by additional contributors. Tom James Scott’s (Skire) fragile and sensitive piano is particularly sublime, and Daniel Morris playing pedal steel and Jean-Noël Rebilly’s clarinette are the icing on an already delicious cake. Take a bite, then demolish the lot.
