Large Brooklyn based collective Antibalas release their sixth full length studio album. Taking their blueprint from Fela Kuti and having members of Afrika 70 and Egypt 80 perform with them several times, they are keeping afrobeat very much alive and striving to update it with modern influences from hip hop, jazz, funk, and dub. Vinyl comes with download code, on Daptone.

7/10 Customer review, 28th December 2017

A very solid release by a solid group and a consistently great label. The music makes you want to move, to sway to their captivating beats and hypnotic running rhythms. It's another great entry in a strong back catalogue. If there is one thing that I would draw criticism to is the inclusion of vocalists from Zap Mama. Instead of giving the music space to breathe, they try to shove in a sound that simply does not fit with what they are laying down. In spite of this, the music is profoundly wicked and powerful.
