Reina plays it out to Carragher. Now on to Alonso. Alonso to Mascherano, who then gives it to Gerrard. Gerrard … striding forward confidently. He’s in a good position. Oh, what a lovely pass! It’s through to Torres! Torres shapes to shoot... and comes through with an LP full of quietly experimental indie pop in the vein of Wild Beasts, Zola Jesus and St. Vincent. The songwriting is as strong as anything on MacKenzie Scott’s previous two LPs, and the production from Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) is pretty and detailed. It’s a goal!

The third LP from American artist Torres (real name Mackenzie Scott) feels vastly different from her earlier releases – shifting away from the straight-forward guitar-heavy sound of her 2015 sophomore album 'Sprinter'.
On 'Three Futures', she presents 10 smouldering tracks laden with deep electronic drums, crackling guitars and intense vocal performances. It's a captivating sonic landscape, with which Torres delivers her most ambitious songwriting to date. Repeated listens are advised – there's a lot to unpack here.
