Tyler, the Creator has always courted controversy for his music and public appearances (normally for perceived homophobic/sexist/violent language) but in the roll-out for the excellent Scum Fuck Flower Boy the focus was almost entirely on what appeared to be a number of allusions within the album's lyrics to Tyler's bi-sexuality. Whether these were genuine revelations or Tyler trolling the media, Scum Fuck Flower Boy is nevertheless his best album, full of lush production (in the vein of his idols Pharrell and Kanye) and some of his most incredible lyrics and flows. Featuring cameos from ASAP Rocky and Frank Ocean, Flower Boy is a vulnerable, beautiful, and at times disorientating listen from one of rap music's most complex figures.

Flower Boy by Tyler, the Creator is his best effort yet without a doubt. As a producer, he is in top mode here making really top notch and extremely memorable beats and instrumentals. As a lyricist and rapper, he has also grown immensely leaving out the immature childish lines he usually incorporates somewhere. This album as a whole is pretty calm and relaxed, it's a very inviting album that will draw you in upon first listen and has high replay value. Very beautiful album with a heavy focus on loneliness.
