Bloody kids eh? This was written and recorded by 17 year old Dominik Stevenson who managed to make the entire thing himself in his bedroom -- he also made it sounds like the super sounds of Tame Impala, Flaming Lips and other freak out pop psychsters. Did he tidy his room after? We need to find out. On the ever good Box Bedroom Rebels.

They make you sick.
These kids with their bedroom production chops - making records that could pass for a Tame Impala outtake in the time it takes their mother to say 'tidy your room'. This is the debut 7" from Australian wonderkid Dominik Stevenson who has made a five track slice of madcap lo-fi pop. He has all the enthusiasm that a 17 year old might especially on the seemingly double speed 'What's On Your Mind' which is both catchy and on the verge of falling apart. In fact the songs often seem to be running away from Stevenson as his vocals battle to catch up with the super quick melodies and madcap drum parts he has come up with. It's all off kilter and hazy and slightly detuned but has a lovelorn warmth on 'Worn Jumpers' that belies his age, sounding something like Wild Nothing held together with bits of string.
He's not quite there yet songwriting wise but this is valiant and sometimes dazzling effort that has bags of enthusiasm so of in a few years he becomes the new Kevin Parker studio whizz then don't say we didn't warn you.
