Sheffield based Seize The Chair have their single Knew You'd Never Been There snatched up by the Too Pure Singles Club and put out on 7”. Warm and melodic with a soft grooving bassline, there’s a great 90s nostalgia to it. For fans of Ride and The Charlatans. Backed with brand new track Secret Sister.

Conspiracy theory pending: there’s a Krautrock that’s actually Britpop. Maybe all I mean by that is that Ride and the Charlatans both used groovy basslines and disaffected vocal repetitions now and then, but Seize the Chair prove the point anyway. Recorded at Suburban Home, this rhythmically rewound lil’ rocker rolls by on its bassline while skittering forward on its synth, eventually crunching up the distortion before letting the guitar out for its filibuster. A dictionary definition of psychedelic stasis, it’s backed by “Secret Sister”, a slightly more front-facing rock song with a fuzzy but nonetheless gripping chorus ready for some kinda festival stage. Who's gonna give 'em an album?
