Loves a bit of the old electro, does our Ekman. This is exactly what the Dutch producer gives us with A-side ‘Sturm Und Drang’ here. However, the crunching heft of industrial techno is something that’s less common on an Ekman drop, making the Fret-style ‘First mover’ a pleasant surprise for your inner beat-freak. ‘Sturm Und Drang’/‘First Mover’ is out via Shipwrec (DMX Krew, The Exaltics).

Sturm Und Drang / First Mover by Ekman

Dutch producer Roel Dijcks aka Ekman (Solar One, The Trilogy Tapes, Berceuse Heroique, Panzerkreuz etc.) returns to Shiprec for his third release on the label - with two prime cuts of Techno, Acid, Electro. ‘Sturm Und Drang’ is first up with crisp 808’s and a frantic wriggling, bubbling bassline, building with reverb drenched rim-shots and sci-fi synth action.

‘First Mover’ is an absolute filthy beast - a real tough, intense pounder with wailing sirens - something akin to being attacked and chased by a swarm of killer bees.
