Moonlight, which has been widely hailed as one of the films of the year, features an excellent soundtrack by Nicholas Britell. The remarkable thing about Britell’s music for Moonlight is that it freely combines ‘traditional’ orchestral themes with radically chopped and screwed versions of the same. 9/10 Richard Customer review, 22nd October 2018
'Moonlight' is one of my favourite films, and the soundtrack plays a major part in creating the atmosphere throughout. Right from the opening Boris Gardiner track you are there again in the opening scenes of the movie as the car pulls up. But the real beauty is found in the many Nicholas Britell tracks, that are so gentle, beautiful, tense and moving. 'Little's Theme' and 'Chiron's Theme' in particular are gorgeous. Also included are cuts by Mozart, Goodie Mob, and Barbara Lewis, which make this an eclectic and stunning soundtrack. If you love the film you need the soundtrack.
