Really popular rap man Lupe Fiasco gets his most popular album 'The Cool' re-issued on special vinyl of clear colour. He's a master of the sort of laid back grooves and insouciant vocal styles that recall the golden days of Warren G and enjoys guest spots from Unkle, Snoop Dog and (weirdly) former Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene.

- Lupe Fiasco's The Cool by Lupe Fiasco
7/10 Jack 6th June 2017
Overall, I feel that Lupe Fiasco released a nice sophomore record. There is clearly no sophomore jinx going on here. The lyrics from Food & Liquor are still there and while the production style is slightly different in some cases, the music doesn't take too much away from the overall quality of The Cool. To call The Cool a complete triumph is a bit of an overstatement. Conversely, to call the album a downgrade from Lupe's critically acclaimed 2006 debut, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor is also an overstatement. The Cool lies somewhere between these two extremes.
