USA/MEXICO is something of a supergroup that consists of Shit & Shine / Todd man Craig Clouse, Trance Syndicate label founder King Coffey of Butthole Surfers and Nate Cross from When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth, Expensive Shit and Marriage. Right there you have the ingredients for a noisy, heavy racket of a record and this really is a behemoth that delivers on the sum of its parts.

In many ways Shit & Shine and Butthole Surfers can be seen as kindred spirits - each with an uncompromising, bloody minded approach - often with an irresistible dose of twisted humour. These qualities are apparent from the heavy caveman rock sludge of opener ‘Possum Trot’ where stoner metal meets flanging acid guitar and vocoder like treated vocals. They’re fully in the red on ‘Laredo’ where shrapnel appears to be flying from a riff thats practically suffocating the drums. It’s a proper nasty, gnarly distorted bugger. I can well imagine them cranking this out live, where there’s the disturbing scene of the entire audience having collective nosebleeds. The utterly filthy sound continues on the grumbling euphoria of ‘Yard Of The Month’ complete with what sounds like Metal Mickey having munched Mark E. Smith on the mic. ‘Windsor Park Hardcore’ is pure speaker shredding noise - like Wold jamming inside an erupting volcano. ‘Dumber Rock Riff’ sounds like your favourite classic rock band fucked up on a skip full of hard drugs. ‘L.A’ could almost be some lost Butthole Surfers psyche jam, recorded in some underground cavern, deep within the earths crust. Closing tune ‘Bullets For Pussy’ is probably the least explicitly in your face track - the records longest cut that builds with nasty bass, searing guitar and pummelling drums.

This is thee bonehead, demented, degenerate rock album your parents warned you about as a child. Maximum overdrive - 100% sexual.
