Special recordings from that classic early essential avant-garage-rock group Monks, released here for the first time! The material here was recorded in Hamburg in 1967 by this group of German-stationed American GIs and has been entirely unreleased since then, until right now! Ooooh… That makes this release a real treat, so thanks due to Jack White over at Third Man.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 28th June 2017
Five songs here. The first, "I'm Watching You", is an outtake from the session that produced their final single ("Love Can Tame The Wild"/"He Went Down To The Sea"). The other four songs were recorded some months later and they would not sound terribly out of place on an LP or b-side by, say, John Fred & The Playboys, or The Five Americans. I'm glad to finally get to hear these songs and I dig 'em a lot, but the band really had lost the plot by this point, and it's little surprise that they would break up very shortly after.
