As the solo project of Davina Shell (Thee Ahs), Ghost Thoughts is a unique project with an intriguing approach. For instance, each of the six tracks on this Ghost Thoughts offering features a different female vocalist. Consistently mellow and jangly indie-rock for those lazy Sundays at home.

8/10 Clinton Staff review, 16 May 2017

Y'know. Not all indie-pop is good. Some of it is faux naive twee nonsense but what that does mean is that when it's good it shines out like a beacon on a manure heap. That beacon in this case is this new record by Ghost Thoughts which is the project of Davina Shell of Thee Ah's (nope sorry). Anyway my loss is now my gain as I listen to her songs for the first time. This is lovely! It's sweet indie-pop with a dark heart. It's played beautifully with aching guitars that glisten like morning dew. The songs are interesting with twisty chords and interesting lyrics. I think, dear readers we've struck indie pop gold here.

The opener 'David: My Father's Fathers Father' is truly gorgeous, with hints of the beautiful songwriting of Lois or even Laura Veirs with the yearning vocals. In fact Davina uses 5 different vocalists here (please don't ask me who is who) but it all flows beautiful. There's a bit on 'Everyone Dies Alone' that reminds me of Prefab Sprout 'Swoon' -  it has that kind of sophisticated thing going on  - weird chords and all that.

Great indie pop for fans of Postcard, K Records and all that. I'm going to buy one. DO NOT TRY TO STOP ME!
