Neon Pearl by Neon Pearl

History's forgotten psych bands come ten a penny, but when they were as impressive as Neon Pearl, they deserve to be remembered. As a self-titled offering, this eight-track expedition contains rare and remastered studio recordings from 1967 and 1968. Crossing wires with the likes of The Zombies and Tomorrow - it's a hidden gem.

9/10 Jack 6th June 2017

This was British psychedelia at its very best, and while there were certainly pleasing dreamy psych albums out there, there was nothing that ventured even close to this bit of intoxication. There are those who will attempt to infer that these tracks come across as incomplete and monotonous … yet in them I find fully realised concepts that go far beyond mere notes. Neon Pearl is about the steady redemption of warm fog, ethereal jangling guitars, dream laden lyrics and the altered state of consciousness.
