Croatian Amor is Posh Isolation bossman Loke Rahbek’s solo project, through which he’s been exploring increasingly more ‘musical’ (as in, not noise) avenues. New EP Finding People is virtually pop music, albeit pop music seen through a twisted lense. Lots of vocals and vocal fragments, including a turn from Khalil. 4-track 12” on Posh Isolation.

Loke Rahbek returns as Croatian Amor with a 4-track EP, following last year's well received ‘Love Means Taking Action’ album on Posh Isolation / Alter. The overall mood and construction of the record, sounds somewhat improbably influenced by late period Burial - the underlying sense of sorrow and sadness, through to the way the tracks are arranged, constructed, the use of samples and the way the tunes are like mini-epics that move in unexpected directions. Yet this is no mere carbon copy - it’s genuinely emotive and evocative - touching on loss and death through sampled vocals” You’re gonna die” and “When one life ends, another begins”. There’s angelic synth work, bits of auto-tune, scattered drums and restless sequencing all with that icy sound that’s become one of Posh Isolation’s hallmarks. So basically imagine if Burial made an EP of lonely nights vibes on Posh Isolation and you’re somewhere in the right ballpark.
