Released in 1968 and never previously reissued until now, this is a rare wonder of a recording from the little-documented Indian jazz scene. Shankar Jaikishan and his ensemble do a masterful job of merging the traditional ragas of Indian classical music with Western swing jazz, and it comes out sounding frankly gorgeous. Raga Jazz Style is reissued by Outernational Sounds.

REVIEWS
10/10 Yaudioman Customer review, 29th March 2017
Wonderfull relaxing etnique jazz album. Happy to see will be on vinyl.
Duo made major contribution towards the development of Jazz music in India. This record is the earliest Indo-Jazz (Indo jazz is a hybrid musical genre consisting of jazz, classical and Indian influences) recording in India. This album one of the most innovative songs that they created on Indian Ragas with saxophone, trumpet, sitar, tabla and bass.
My Favorite song is Raga Kalavati ; This raga, usually expounded towards midnight, conveys a mood of extreme urge.
