Classic indie-pop from a bunch of folks who (and I hope they don't mind me saying this) were probably around when indie pop was first invented. One of them was in the Wedding Present for Gods sake. Aesthetically they know what they are doing - the blokes have stripy jumpers and the girls have bobbed hair and many of them wear sunglasses. Beth Arzy of Trembling Blue Stars/Aberdeen is involved so with all that collective experience behind them they know exactly what they are doing musically too.
It's a three tracker of confident fuzzy indie pop with classic era melodies, breathy vocals and bags of sunny day charm. The pick of the bunch is the opening title track which once again exemplifies why we shouldn't all brand twee poppers as a bunch of wimps like we did in the 80s. This is sassy and tough and would have no hesitation in headbutting you outside Wetherspoons if you looked at its anorak the wrong way. 'We've been Wasting Time' has bags of feedback a la Jesus and Mary Chain and has a cracking singalong chorus, and 'Better Without You' is a Buzzcocks meets Shop Assistants ish happy/sad anthem.
