Members of Hot Chip, Caribou, Simian Mobile Disco, Floating Points, and Junior Boys have got together to perform Frank McCarthy’s experimental composition Tactus Tempus, whereby 5 individuals improvise separately but are guided by a simple line on a score sheet, which they in turn interpret themselves. Each using a synthesizers this record has two takes, one more tonal the other more percussive.
