8/10 Ant Staff review, 16 March 2017

After a series of club rooted 12”s from Alex Coulton, Batu, Laksa, Gaunt, Chevel and Webstarr, Kailin’s ‘Fracture’ marks the first album release on Beneath’s Mistry label and appears to be the debut release from this newcomer. Shifting beyond the club and into the very early post-dancefloor hours for some slightly ominous, dread-filled, darkside, futuristic ambient electronica.

Across the record there’s two opposing forces at work - one of introspection and one of more abstracted detachment - making this an intriguing work that leaves the imagination to sort of put those elements together. It’s restless and dynamic with reasonably short tracks leaving me somewhat puzzled as to where exactly in time and space it puts me which ultimately is the album's strength. Kinda reminds me of a more narcotic Rabit or something. Good stuff.
