REVIEWS
Here we have an ambient sorta tape from Mother Mark. Good evening ma’am, I’m here to see Mother Mark. Mother Mark will see you now. Mother Mark and Father Sally went to the market. Apparently he’s also known as Maxwell and belongs to Rubadub, yet they’ve let him out to make a tape on V I S.
It’s a slow sequence of different textures, starting with bristling sort of crackles before more melodic feedbacking tones enter, occasionally building to a synth layer that either growls or shines. It’s caught somewhere between the darker dubbiness of Echospace and the textural bliss of White Paddy Mountain, while sounding like a different beast entirely. Textures gleefully jump into view before crumbling down before your very ears. Mother Mark’s falling apart. Just when you think it’s gonna get breezy and beautiful it drifts back into spookiness. And we wouldn’t have Mother Mark any other way.
