WIth a quote from The Slits proudly raised as a banner over the whole thing, Emotional Response present the second volume of their Typical Girls compilation series of ass-kicking punk / pop-punk bands. This set features bands from all over the Western world (including Black Abba, Skinny Girl Diet and Midnight Snaxxx), none of whom are taking any shit.

8/10 Clinton Staff review, 20 April 2017

Not content with one volume highlighting bands fronted by women, Emotional Response have unleashed another batch of mainly unknown artists throughout the world -- all of which pretty angry about one thing or another. Suss C*nts (warning: a lot of the names are quite rude) stand out early doors with a furious blast of punk pop fun which crucially add in an infectious chorus, I'm also enjoying the shoegaze fuzz fun of Flesh World and the disjointed lop-sided racket of Sex Stains. I must make it clear that men are allowed on this record but they mustn't front the band and Sex Stains are a wonderful ball of energy. Naked City fly the flag for the more Slitsy side of things with a tightly wound piece of marvellous post punk with rubbery bass and a guitar which sounds like it has been played by a wasp. More of this is loud and thrashy so it's nice to hear Moss Lime being more restrained on 'I Always Get What I Want' where they freely admit to wanting a boyfriend. Urrrgghhh - what would you want one of them for? They are hapless and they stink!

All fantastic fun and well worth a second volume.
