Get heavy and spacey with Pontiak, a band of three brothers. They take that close connection and use it to allow them to ride the waves of psychedelic jams that might throw lesser acts into disarray. But Dialectic Of Ignorance never strays from the cosmic path, even though it feels good and loose as it travels on the way. Out on Thrill Jockey.

Pontiak are at a certain point in their prolific career where they are able to do whatever they like and their loyal fans will always seem to follow. The music on their tenth album on the Thrill Jockey label is a testament in exploration, with each track seemingly developing to create one 50-minute psychedelic dirge jam. I'd say it's a pretty heavy album, but instead on focusing purely on the repetitive riffs, they seem to add a sense of emotion to them as well. It’s a remarkable album that you should play loud, especially in a wide open space.
