Feral Ohms is a trio with ferocious members drawn from bands like Comets On Fire, Drunk Horse and Nudity. This self-titled debut album is a dirty slab of rock music done right, e.g. overdriven to hell and blasted with feedback and distortion. It’s a wild ride and no mistake. Some of you may be familiar with Ethan Miller's work, whether it's with Comets on Fire and the slightly-under-the-rader Heron Oblivion. His latest project, Feral Ohms, leans towards the biting venom of Comets, whilst combining elements of old school punk like the Stooges and Black Flag, with hints of early Soundgarden to their arsenal that will result in a speaker-shaking experience. The shouted/singing vocals of Miller easily blends in with the music but it's his demented guitar work that is the highlight as he works it to the extreme on each of the nine tracks featured here, the highlights being “Gods Of Nicaragua”, “Love Damage” and "Super Ape". This full-on rock assaults you continuously and in the end, will make this 26 minutes very difficult to forget.
