Pond present The Weather, a concept album dedicated to their hometown of Perth and its colonial city brethren around the world. It has a bright and exciting psychedelic flavour: you can almost hear the influence of their producer, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. CD and black vinyl editions available, plus a special white-with-blue-specks vinyl edition that you’ll have to be speedy to get hold of. On Marathon Artists.

8/10 Jasmine Customer review, 19th May 2017
The Weather is the latest glistening psych-pop offering from Pond, but don’t be fooled by the pop label, because there's some serious dark tones hidden underneath.
The Weather explores the very strange current state of our world particularly with album opener 30000 Megatons, which truly does feel like it’s hitting you in the face with a megaton or two with is heavy bass, synths and Nick proclaiming that they should just ‘push the button now’. Fans of previous albums such as the more laid-back and fuzzy ‘Beard, Wives, Denim’ or the guitar heavy ‘Hobo Rocket’ may feel slightly deterred by the more upfront electronic pop sound of The Weather, which coincidentally echoes the sonic change of producer Kevin Parker’s (Tame Impala) own album Currents. Although these comparisons to Tame Impala are inevitable, Pond manage to claw back the psych goodness in the second half with sparkling and sprawling numbers such as Edge of the World and title track The Weather. I say give it a chance. It’s a real grower.
