Seemingly content to veer between dark electro-pop and dark cinematic folk it looks like Goldfrapp have swayed back towards the electronic side of things with this their 7th album. Looks like they've gone for a star studded cast this time round with St Vincent, John Grant, Wild Beasts, The Haxan Cloak and the ubiquitous John Congleton all lending a hand

A full electronic assault following their mellow Tales of Us. And it works! After 7 albums and Goldfrapp can now be devised into 2 distinct entities,

oscillating between slower, electro records and beat-driven synth pop albums. Silver Eye of course falls in the latter category and, surprisingly, is their best shot yet at it! They have created a perfect balance between their catchy pop songs and their heartbreaking, mellower tracks. The songs are poetic yet highly melodic and offers some of the most beautiful songs in their career. Goldfrapp have now mastered both of their entities and on Silver Eyes offer (almost) their best album ever!
