Fernando Velázquez composed this suite of dramatic music to accompany the sensitive monster film A Monster Calls, following his previous work for Guillermo Del Toro and M. Night Shyamalan. Tender here and tense there as the film requires, but the standard of composition is high throughout. Released in a orange / yellow double gatefold vinyl edition by Music On Vinyl in an edition of 500.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 28th June 2017
I can recall seeing a copy of the book "A Monster Calls", written by Patrick Ness, a few years ago and really being amazed by the art work. My interest in the book only took me as far as skimming over some of the captivating drawings found throughout. The story looks to be full of emotion, symbolism, and will have you pondering its thematic message. Velazquez's score compliments this tale quite well, and through the score you can hear a magical, moving, and sometimes frightful story being shared through the instrumentation.
