Peaking Lights are back with an irresistable 12” to whet the appetite before their forthcoming album arrives in the not too distant future. ‘Liitle Flower’ is an effortlessly groovy, romantic psychedelic house track that feels like some long lost Balearic house gem has been unearthed but all with their trademark sound - one that beams rays of pure sunshine straight from Los Angeles and onto the floor of your local discotheque. Apparently DJ Harvey requested the instrumental version and has been playing it out - It’s perfectly functional and a sweet track in it’s own right. However I prefer the vocal mix with Chloë Sevigny’s spoken word really elevating it to another level of ecstatic bliss.
On the flip is ‘Conga Blue’ in both instrumental and vocal mixes. An ultra funky, trippy disco number, this time with Indra Dunis on dreamy vocal duties. The tight rhythms will keep the feet moving while a squelching electro-funk style bassline, playful vocoder and lush bleeping melodies will ensure plenty of grins and good times on the dancefloor.
