Lol Coxhill was a member of Kevin Ayers' backing band Whole World. They feature, along with Robert Wyatt, on his 1971 album Ear Of The Beholder. The album is a sprawling, mesmerising and daring avant-jazz masterpiece that stood out as ‘different’ at a time when new ground was being broken frequently. It was originally released on Dandelion, the label owned by legendary DJ John Peel.
