Slapp Happy were formed when Anthony Moore, based in Hamburg at the time, was encouraged to be less experimental. He wrote some, more normal, yet still avant garde, songs and invited his friend, Peter Blegvad to play guitar and girlfriend Dagmar Krause to sing. Acnalbasac Noom, their second album, was slated for release in 1974 but didn’t actually appear until 1980 due to record label wrangles which even led the album to be re-recorded with English session musicians replacing Faust. This is the original version, featuring Faust. The music served as an antidote to the macho rock of the early '70s, occasionally sounding like pre-Ambient Brian Eno jamming with Loaded-era Velvet Underground.
