Off to Helena Hauff-basket for a one-sided, near-10-minute slab of analogue mania. Hauff in Hypnobeat mode means her teaming up with James Dean Brown, winding up a load of modulars and letting them go all at once. They are joined here by Shinoby - indeed, this is the fourth release in his ISTHEWAY series which has also cut work by Hieroglyphic Being. Vinyl only.

- All Things Pass Into The Night by Shinoby vs Hypnobeat

‘All Things Pass Into The Night’ clocks in at just over nine minutes on this limited edition single-sided 12” on Verona based DJ and producer Omar Contri aka Shinoby’s ISTHEWAY imprint. He’s joined by James Dean Brown and Helena Hauff (Panzerkreuz, Lux Rec, Werkdiscs, Handmade Birds) in the latest incarnation of Hypnobeat whom Brown co-founded around 1983. They plug in their Roland TR-808’s for a grubby, raw, dense polyrhythmic, dark acid laced, frantic, tension filled techno/electro cut. It generates an uneasy, itchy feeling something like being attacked by a swarm of ants.
Kinda like Drexciya at their most intense, covering Belgian New Beat Classic ‘Amnesia’ by Ibiza. Count me in.
