7/10 Clinton Staff review, 19 January 2017

I don't know what to say about Cherry Glazerr that hasn't been already said by Mike in his review of their previous album 'Hazel Princess'. Basically they play glossy LA grungy pop which sounds like if Best Coast had been obsessed with L7 and Veruca Salt. "We wear our underpants three days in a row" they sing on 'Trash People'. Do you know, I couldn't  - not if you paid me. Anyway they sing about the state of their underpants and their carpet over some pretty tuneful gritty alt rock without ever threatening to set the world on fire. Cherry Glazerr are one of those bands that you are content to nod along to, their music is glossily produced and they play with enthusiasm but I can't much originality nor the kind of killer hooks that will make my ears burst out of their slumber. It's not bad though. Maybe it's me that's the problem. I perhaps need to be younger.
