Froth are an LA band working that productive meeting point between melodic hazy synth-song and infinite-chug motorik grooves. Outside (briefly) features Froth showing off the most refined version of their sound to date, heavy with slick atmosphere and flair. CD and limited yellow vinyl LP editions available, on Wichita.

8/10 Clinton Staff review, 09 February 2017
Titled after the story of my lunch on a sunny day, with this album initially Froth are yet another band who offer kraut-ish electronic pop that pulsates on opener ‘Contact’ and you think here we go again but they are nothing if diverse. ‘Shut The Windows’ is the tune I’ve been hearing in the office recently that has almost forced me to open my mouth and speak to find out what it is. It sounds like Elliott Smith or that marvellous Eiafuwan album we keep banging on about. Wonderfully atmospheric descending tangled guitars and breathy vocals and possibly my favourite song of 2017 so far. They are not going to give me any more like that though as they then launch into powerful indie rock with nods to My Bloody Valentine (‘Passing Thing’) then ‘Petals’ which sorta comes across like ‘Sister Lovers’ era Big Star digitised. You get the idea? They are all over the shop.   But this works in the same way as albums like Sparklehorse's 'Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot' or Grandaddy’s 'Under the Western Freeway' by sort of not making a whole lot of sense at all. It’s like a mix tape made by your friend who likes Dwight Twilley AND Medicine AND Neu. It’s really great.
