C is the collaborative moniker for Nika Son and F#X, two artists who can destroy and manipulate field recordings and audio sources to to point of complete obscurity. Working for a commissioned installation, they have put some of their edits down as this EP. Besides the single break in Geroll, sound sources fall in and out of tangibility, is that real or synthesised?

Hamburg’s V I S is shaping up to be an interesting label. Following wax from SPR and Scheich in China we now have an EP from C aka Nika Son and F#X (half of Black Sites alongside Helena Hauff). ‘Geroll’ is all trippy electronics underneath a sluggish, stoned, cold and heavy hip-hop breakbeat - in the vein of Mick Harris ‘Hednod Sessions’. ‘Diphtongues’ is all blackened drones and garbled, processed vocals and frequencies that's’ like tapping into some psychic alien radio transmission. The titular cut goes all bubbling liquid electronics and crashing sounds - like someone trying to break into a cash register with a wooden crowbar. Pretty damn strange and bizarre sounding - more like some old fluxus thing than something you’d expect from folks associated with the Golden Pudel club.
