Kassem Mosse gets back down to business with a CD of fizzy and complex electronics. The man has an intuitive feel for drum machines that takes him beyond the four-to-the-floor basics and into other realms: the tracks of Disclosure are full of their own dubbed-out flavour. CD release on Honest Jon’s.

It’s always great to get new material from Gunnar Wendal and this his second proper full length is mighty tasty. Generally speaking it’s a lot less straightforward than we’re used to - but once you get your head around some of the strange time signatures and slightly dissonant sounds it really worms its way in -- not unlike some Jamal Moss works i.e it hangs loosely on a techno/ house template but is much more free flowing and organic than so much of the rigid grid locked music in that world. There’s also something of a mystical vibe shared with the aforementioned. Took me a coupla spins get get properly into it but well worth the time. Plenty of ammo for more adventurous dancefloors as well as more abstract (possibly modular synth) radiophonic squiggles.
