One man experimentation focussed electronic rock band TVAM has shifted his sights onto the kraut/psych sound and brought us Total Immersion on his own label Psychic Data, and it’s wall of sound that journeys off into space. The flip side comes with a remix from Invada based dark synth wave duo The KVB.

First up: buyer beware. This is not the TV-am that launched breakfast telly onto an unsuspecting British public in 1981. Instead this is one man Joe Oxley making kraut rock that sounds like a band at play. It is a pulsing and pulsating six minute stab at the two note drones churned out by the likes of Neu over the years. Hookworms without the screeching if you will. All nicely put together with all the right kind of dynamics to make such a thing enthralling. Overleaf fellow travellers the KVB have a go at remixing it. They retain the now classic two chord riff adding drum machine and lashings of scary synth. They surprise us all by adding a third chord which provides some light relief before returning to the signature theme.

Engrossing music for those who don't like change.
