CC Dust are a new band with an old sound, fully embodying the heart and soul of 1980’s synth-pop. Shinkansen No. 1 / New Ways throbs with David Jaques’ melodic basslines and soars with Maryjane Dunphe’s moodily impassioned vocals. They’ve got the synth-pop skills and no mistake. 7” single release on the Night School label.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 20 October 2016

It's like Savages covering Gary Numan if such a thing could be imagined. Wobbly synths pulsing bass lines and words slung out by the sort of woman who would probably rip my head off if she saw the review I slopped out of their previous 12". Out of the two tracks I probably like 'New Ways'. This is pretty good with a nice tuneful chorus which shows out the singers ability to veer into Bonnie Tyler territory. The flanged bass is particularly effective. Gotta love a bit of flange on the bass.
