Usually found on Northern electronics and Dimensional Exploration, Swedish producer Acronym goes to Semantica Records for his third full length (though, technically it is a double EP). Entangled In Vines provides slabs of droning, minimal, and near-ambient techno pieces, not smacking you in the face but hypnotising you. Think Loscil with a bit more beef, and less dubbed out.

REVIEWS
Feeling too hungry to write reviews I'm just going to batter my ears with this pre- cup-a-soup.
In fact even though this form of techno is speedy and repetitive my ears actually feel rather softened by the sounds. The beats and muted and the synths carve a rather pleasant path even if they are acidic as on opener 'Enter'. 'Getting Closer' is the sort of thing I like. Kind of as if Gas decided to really go for it and write a 'banger'. As the track progresses it emerges out of the murk cleverly getting more clear and vibrant. It's a brilliant example of repetition as an art form.
Elsewhere there are soggy flopping beats on 'Escape' and unbelievable buzzes on 'Wrapped'. The repetitiveness reminds me of the Field but this is more about relentless pummelling beats and head jarring bleeps. Yet it's strangely soothing and ambient too and generally steers well clear of the done to death (if still delicious) atmospheric chords of dub techno.
