Our Girl make poppy, noisy blasts of shoegaze/noise pop which has earned them support slots with the likes of Dream Wife and Sunflower Bean. Kind of snotty lady-fronted indie rock with nods to all those '90s people we used to like such as the Breeders, Lush and even Sleeper. Promising start I reckon.

It's nice to see smiley bands. Who is the smiliest band ever? Pixies circa Kim Deal perhaps? The Pixies have always smiled and Our Girl are not only smiling but are playing enjoyably crashing grungy pop with loads big waves of guitars and the type of big thumping choruses. Just got a couple of these tracks to wax lyrical about but both are enjoyable in their own way. 'No Big Deal' veers from a plaintive verse with chiming/tremolo'd guitars to a stuttering chorus but i think I'm preferring 'Being around' which kinda reminds me of Veruca Salt and Lush and is good all the way through with enough hooks to shake a stick at.
Yeah ok it's very derivative of a certain type of '90s noise pop but it's tuneful and fun and expertly constructed.
